INNIO’s Waukesha brand matches funds raised by employees to donate $10,000 CDN to Welland food bank
• INNIO’s Waukesha brand Culture Council together with employees raise $5,000 CDN
• INNIO’s donation allocated to purchase 16,500 granola bars for children’s lunches
• Donation comes at a time when there is a 38% increase in children under 12 using the food bank
Welland, Ontario, Canada – March 07, 2023 – INNIO’s Waukesha brand today announced that it has recently donated $10,000 CDN to Welland—based Open Arms Mission of Welland Inc. (Open Arms Mission/OAM), a volunteer-driven organization focused on providing food, personal care, and other items to those in need. During the employee-led Culture Council meetings, employees of INNIO’s Waukesha brand discussed how best to support individuals in need of food. After engaging Open Arms, the Culture Council members reached out to INNIO employees with the opportunity to support the food bank. Waukesha employees responded by raising $5,000 CDN. INNIO matched the funds which led to a donation of $10,000 CDN to the Open Arms Mission.
As members of the Welland community, INNIO is proud to join our employees to help the Open Arms Mission help those who are in need. Being part of the Welland community has given INNIO many opportunities, and as part of our core values, it is imperative that we give back.

OAM is experiencing an unprecedented rise in the number of people coming to the Mission. This donation from INNIO is deeply appreciated and needed. Last year, we served over 10,000 people with 3,212 being under the age of 18. The need for food continues to grow and this generous donation from INNIO will help put food on the tables of those who are struggling in our community.

INNIO’s Waukesha brand Culture Council in Welland chose to raise funds for the Open Arms Mission because it offers unprecedented support to most vulnerable in the city. In donating to Open Arms Mission, INNIO’s Waukesha team helps give hope by investing in the future of the marginalized and overlooked. Over the last year, the Open Arms Mission has experienced the following:
- A 38% increase in children under 12 using the food bank (2022 vs 2021).
- Over 10,000 people using the food bank in 2022.
- In 2022, 3,213 people under the age of 18 used the food bank.
- In 2019, served on average 30 people a day, increasing to 45 people a day in 2022.
